Description
RFR was appointed to act as façade specialist in order to assist Atelier Christian de Portzamparc with the design of the office building façades, contributing a technical approach suited to the project programme and guaranteeing the quality of the envelope system and its geometry.
Two of the buildings in this complex have façades consisting of brown GFRC cladding, while the Galeo building has a double-skin façade with silk-screened glass scales.
The double-skin façade is supported by a steel framework covering a first traditional skin (concrete shell pierced with windows).
The windows are divided into three glazed panels: one fixed in the centre and two opening on either side of the piers, opening inwards.
A steel mesh walkway is inserted between the scales and the main building structure to allow access for maintenance purposes.
