The headquarters of the Paris Bar Association is unveiled!

the House of Lawyers will be the new headquarters of the lawyers of Paris; the move into the premises is scheduled for early March

Located at the foot of the Tribunal de Grande Instance (Paris Law Court) in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, the house of Lawyers shares with its «big brother» not only a courtyard, but the signature of the same architect: Renzo Piano.

Designed in an idea of transparency, the House of Lawyers is a building with a steel carrier exoskeleton. This choice of structure was mandatory to ensure the lightness of the building, which overlooks the tunnels of lines 13 and 14 of the metro. This exoskeleton also allows the building to take over large cantilevers, one of 27m at the tip of the building on the avenue side, the other of 10m and over a width of 30m, on the court side.

RFR has developed for this project the facades enveloping the exoskeleton, composed of a double glass skin, allowing to regulate the external thermal inputs.
Thus, the building is part of a process of high environmental quality, at the forefront of HQE standards, and complies with the climate plan of the city of Paris.
Other technical solutions are also used in this process, such as wood for the main frames and very thin aluminium profiles for the openings. Finally, the entire ceiling is made of exposed concrete in order to fully enjoy the thermal inertia of this material.
