The project of the CA Besançon, quoted in the magazine "Les Cahiers Techniques du Bâtiment"

Built in the 1970's in the historic heart of the city of Besançon, the head office of Crédit Agricole de Franche-Comté no longer met the current construction standards. A heavy rehabilitation was therefore naturally necessary, placing the human at the heart of the approach, also aiming to give a more contemporary image to the building.

The edifice is first exposed, retaining only the original concrete skeleton and the facades. The rest is redesigned and renovated; 1 200m² of surface and 2 additional floors are added to the building, which will accomodate 240 employees.

Surface gains are also accompagned by a densification of the spaces. Inside, the offices are organized according the image of the historic Besançon's inner courtyards.

RFR participated in the creation of the atrium and the curtain-wall canopy, which closes the old courtyard. The completely refurbished floors develop from this center around a monumental staircase. Finally, a green wall is installed in the atrium, as well as 120m² of photovoltaic panels, allowing the building to operate with 100% of renewable energy.

The architects Serge Ferrini and Pierre-Jean Ravoux are proud to have been able to take on this technical and architectural performance, mainly surrounded by local companies.
